Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 623-352-1818 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We use only positive-reinforcement / reward-based training (aligned with LIMA ethics: least intrusive, minimally aversive). We don’t use choke chains, prong collars, or shock collars — unless you explicitly ask for alternative tools (rarely needed). We believe trust and consistency deliver lasting behavior.

  • For private training: Puppies may start at 8 weeks, once they have their first round of vaccinations (distemper/parvo). You’ll need to supply their kibble (or approved treats) for puppies up to 6 months. For older dogs, we match treats with their current protein preference. *Please note we recommend in home training for dogs at this age

  • For boarding, daycare or group-based sessions: We require up-to-date bordetella, DHPP (distemper/parvo), and rabies vaccines — and proof of vaccination. *Please consult with your veterinarian on the total amount of certain vaccines such as Parvo prior to coming to boarding.

We believe in customized training plans — tailored to your dog, your lifestyle, and your goals. That means costs vary. After a free consultation and temperament evaluation, we’ll propose a plan designed for your needs and budget. Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes, once a week; some clients see noticeable behavior improvements within a few sessions, though lasting change depends on consistency and follow-through. We offer flexible payment plans so you don’t have to compromise quality for convenience.

Yes — we specialize in behavior modification and reactivity. We can often help with fear-based issues, leash reactivity, resource guarding, and more. However, we do not accept dogs with a documented bite history. If your dog has a bite record, we can sometimes refer you to partner facilities that handle high-risk cases.

We begin with a behavior and temperament assessment — seeing how your dog responds to people, other dogs, and common stimuli, while gauging confidence level and learning style. Then we meet with you to design a custom training plan, discuss your goals and budget, and establish a payment plan. After registering, your dog will begin with a 30-minute in-person lesson, and you receive a welcome package and home-study materials so you’re primed for success from day one.

Yes. We offer virtual training sessions (via Zoom) for owners who want expert guidance but can’t make frequent in-person sessions. Virtual training can be ideal for puppies, busy professionals, or clients outside our immediate area — and it still uses our same certified trainers and custom-tailored methods.
